WHITEMOSS CYP AT ORMSIDE

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester members, Whitemoss Club for Young People, managed to successfully apply for funding from Adactus Housing, to take a group of their young people away on a residential weekend to Ormside Mill.

Whitemoss received a £2,000 Breathe Investment Grant from Adactus and were able to take a number of their young people to Ormside Mill on the weekend of 9th to 11th March when the group of youngsters took part in a range of activities that the centre has to offer. As well as team building activities the group also did Archery and Hill Walking and more.

John Biggs, the Centre Manager, said, “Thanks to the grant from Adactus we were able to give our members the chance to learn life skills, which they can use and pass on to others at our junior sessions at the centre.”

Ormside Mill is jointly owned by Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester and Lancashire Boys & Girls Clubs. It has room for up to 16 people in dormitory type accommodation and an adjacent barn and field where a range of team building and outdoor challenges can be organised. It is at the heart of the Cumbrian countryside with many nearby hills and crags for more adventurous activity. To find out more, and to see if we can help you find funding for such activities that John’s group has just enjoyed, please contact the office on 0161 660 4091.
