Three young Boxers have won national titles in the National Association of Boys & Girls Clubs Boxing Championships. Three other boxers also made it through to national finals.

The first boxer to become a national champion this year was Danielle Allsop from St John’s ABC who boxed in the Class C finals at Manchester’s own show on Wednesday 6th December at the Victoria Warehouse. She overcame Catherine Pringle from North Allerton ABC and was presented with her awards by Hughie Fury a former NABGC Champion and World Champion.

Other winners came in the Class B’s and Class D’s.

In the Class B finals Jack Murphy from Roy Richardson’s travelled to Bristol where he had to beat Lennox Gill from Golden Ring ABC to win his national title. On the same bill Thomas Strong from Middleton Select and Samson Burton from Jimmy Egan’s Boxing Academy fell just short of national titles both losing in their respective finals.

However, another champion emerged from the Class D finals which took place in Durham on Monday 11th December.

Mehran Khan of Hamer ABC in Oldham was the stronger finalist in the 91KG weight category and became NABGC National Champion. Hamer also had another finalist on that night, but unfortunately Beth Connellan couldn’t overcome Naimh McGuckin.

Well done to all those who boxed in the NABGC Championships & congratulations to our national champions.
