BGCGM HELPING TO BUILD CLUBS

Thanks to a grant from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester, two local clubs have been helped to progress their plans to extend or improve their club buildings.

After 20-years at their club, Ashton Albion Boxing Club were being asked to move on due to the building they were in being sold. Their new home was in need of a £30,000 improvement programme. And despite their best efforts, the Tameside based club were still in need to help to do their best to get the works done over the summer.

Boys & Girls Clubs have been able to make a £5,000 donation to help with getting the plumbing installed at the club.

Another club, Norbrook Youth Club, also benefitted from support of £5,000 to help progress their new Games Zone reach completion.

Norbrook Youth Club were successful in applying to the Garfield Weston Foundation to build an extension to their current building. The new extension will house a Game Zone. A £5,000 grant from BGCGM means that the shortfall to complete the project is now covered. Progress on the new Game Zone has happened very quickly over the summer period and a launch event is planned very soon.
