West End Boys & Girls Club Make National Final

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester members, St John’s Amateur Boxing Club are making the most of their membership this year. All members of Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester, also have access to the NABGC activities programme, and the Chorlton based club headed south on the weekend of 15th June, to join around 400 other young people at the Essex Adventure Weekend which is held annually at the Essex Boys & Girls Clubs activities centre, Stubbers.

Collyhurst & Moston Book Launch

On Saturday 9th June, West End Boys & Girls Club represented Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester in the National Association of Boys Girls Clubs, national 5-a-side Finals, held at the Soccerdome in Trafford Park. This prestigious event this year hosted 400 young people from all across the UK to see who would be crowned champions of the Boys & Girls Clubs.

Seddon's have it boxed off in Collyhurst's Kitchen

Thanks to a link created between the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester and Seddon Construction, Collyhurst & Moston Lads Club Boxing Club are able to celebrate their centenary year with a decent cup of tea, made in their new kitchen. As part of their 100-year celebrations, the club are engaging lots of local businesses, former members and other supporters, to get the club revamped, refurbished and redecorated. And, Seddon have played their part, by fitting a new kitchen in their education room.

Level 1 Table Tennis
Coaching Award

Stockport Lads Club

Who for: Volunteers and staff at clubs affiliated to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Manchester who will deliver Table Tennis activities to young people from the Greater Manchester area. Participants must be aged 16-years and over.

How much: A fee of £20 per person will be charged. This will be refunded when participants have completed the course and delivered at least 10 x 1-hour sessions to young people at BGCGM clubs.

What is the course about: The course is the first step along the journey towards being able to coach Table Tennis in local clubs. It focusses on how and what to coach young people in Table Tennis sessions.

How many spaces: There are a maximum of 12 places available on a first come, first served basis..

Visual Impairment
Awareness Training

Whitemoss Club for Young People

Who for: Staff and volunteers of Boys & Girls Clubs members aged 16 and over.

How much: Free.

What the course is about: This workshop will provide participants with an understanding of the challenges faced by young people with visual impairments, and provide some help and advice as to staff and leaders can make facilities and activities more inclusive for those with visual impairments.

How many spaces: There are a maximum of 15 places available on a first come, first served basis.
